Wye River has less than 100 permanent residents. But it is clearly a sentimental favourite amongst Melbournians. It is no doubt due to the fact of during the summer holiday season when the town swells to more than ten times that size. Named after a river in wales in 1882, Wye River offer surfing, scenic walks, and being only 15 kilometres from Lorne, easy access to restaurants and pubs.
